Dear Milchman I've a film query that's been bugging the shit out of me for a few years now. It concerns the name of a film. German, with a football theme. World Cup, possibly. Saw it around 2005 but it might've been released before then. One of those I remember really enjoying at the time but the memories of it are vague, and the title escapes me altogether. Can you help me? (For a bonus point, who has a song with that as the title? Why it's American Music Club of course. I win) Yours in high anticipation Me |

Escape to Victory?* * Clearly it's not but I'd love it if marg replied "That's the one!" |

The only two German football themed films I can think of are The Goalkeepers Fear Of The Penalty, which doesn't fit your description at all and one called, I think, The Miracle Of Bern, which I've not seen. I remember it coming out about a decade ago, so, at least, the time frame fits. |

What year was the Bobby Womack track I posted in the classics thread released? I don't actually own it, so I couldn't get a date off the record. |
