A bit like classic of the day etc. A place to post a classic compilation album a day - prefer it to be various artists. The first one I'd like to suggest is 'Turkish Freakout 2' http://www.juno.co.uk/products/turkish- ... 428220-01/ I bought my copy back in 2011 - never found volume 1 at a reasonable price. But this one is good enough for me. It's like a weird mix of easy listening and psych-ish sounds. Here's Boris Manco with 'Mozart' https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7q4c2K3KVbc |

Good idea, Trev. I love various artist comps. Probably 75% of the albums I buy these days are va comps. |

Great choice of comp - I have vol 1 too (neither seemed to be around for very long), if I can help you out. |

Friday Nut Boppin' Whoppers (Squirrel Records) Back when Squirrel Records was the home to fucked up garage/noise bands. They released this beauty. 27 songs of (mostly) snotty punk rock featuring the likes of The Real Losers, The Nasties and Pop Threat. Most 'famous' band on the comp is probably The Cribs. But don't let that put you off. http://www.squirrelrecords.co.uk/compil ... -whoppers/ Here's a whole LP by The Real Losers on Youtube. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-_AANEmNbOY |

The Real Losers are easily the best band I've ever played with. One chaotic Real Losers show when you're a young boy and there's no turning back! |

Hadn't come across that comp before, but share Trev and Horse's enthusiasm for the Real Losers; great live band! |

Good idea Trev. Virgin have put out some great (and some not so great) compilations. Here is a great one, one of their Ambient and breakbeat compilations they did so well: You might not expected to find Coil here but: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nRSid9ofgOw |

Some Bizarre My introduction to what was briefly labelled Futurist music at the time. It featured Depeche Mode, Soft Cell, Blancmange, Naked Lunch, all before their fame and performing in a very lo-fi and minimalist form. To a teenager it seemed like a really, really exciting thing back then. This was my favourite then, the Fast Set with a T-Rex cover: |

Wild & Frantic 18 black rock & roll pounders released on Wilderness records. Side A 01 Upsetters - I'm In Love Again 02 Billy La Mont - Country Boy 03 Pretty Boy - Switchen' In The Kitchen 04 Mr P.T - Crazy Sadie 05 Otis Redding - Fat Gal 06 Little Old Etonian Tory fuckpig - Kansas City Dog 07 Rockin' Bradley - Lookout 08 Don Covey - Believe It Or Not 09 Tony Harris - Chicken, Baby, Chicken Side B 10 Tommy Louis - Wail Baby Wail 11 Mr P.T - Aunt Suzie 12 Freddy Robinson - Five Feet Of Lovin' 13 Joe Tex - You Little Baby Face Thing 14 Pretty Boy - Rockin' The Mule 15 Lowell Fulson - Rock This Morning 16 Andy Wilson - My Love, My Love 17 The Valiants - Frieda, Frieda 18 Curtis Carrington - I'm Gonna Catch You Virtually any track would well represent this excellent comp. My random choice: Joe Tex - You Little Baby Face Thing http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KvdA-W9Icxo Not to be confused with the similarly themed CD of the same name on Official records, nor that CDs's sequels More Wild & Frantic and Again Wild & Frantic, although these are also well worth checking out. Neither should it be confused with Wild & Frantic Rock & Roll, a 10 CD set on the Documents label, which features a lot of better known and, for the most part, not so wild & frantic acts. p.s. Nice to see the Old Etonian Tory fuckpig jape still works Bovey. |

Superb choice Mr Anarchy. That LP was a real eye opener for me when it came out. Remember buying it after hearing Peel play tracks from it. Every track was new to me at the time. Have spent decades searching for volume 2, but have never even seen a copy. |
