| Post subject: | Who do Passenger and Brett Dennen remind me of? |
I keep hearing indie folk singers with similar voices, and I can't work out who it is they all remind me of. Passenger, Joshua James, Brett Dennen, Cairan Lavery, maybe even Jake Bugg a bit. Anyone have any idea who it is these singers all sound a little bit like? Thanks Jak |

I checked out Brett Dennen and the guy sounds like a complete pussy... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bTh4NaIJgrE What the fuck is that!? That's not 'folk'. It sounds like music from a montage on 'Friends' where the generic gang go hiking or something. "I'm a Wild Child, Mama", err nah, you're a company pop stooge with an urban outfitters wardrobe and a lyric book stolen from Bon Jovi, you fraud. I could imagine it used in a 90's commercial for tampons where the 'babes' go to the beach and go rollerblading despite their periods, except it's 20 years too late for that and the only period in the video is Brett Dennen himself. Awful. Makes Jake Bugg sound as talented as a young Dylan, which is quite an achievement. |
