It's probably just me, and perhaps I have heard ths before but have fogotten. Anyway, I've just been massively surprised to learn (or possibly be reminded) that David Byrne is Scottish. Well I never! |

I'm sure everyone knows Robert Wyatt and that he was the drummer in Soft Machine... well after Soft Machine he formed a band called Matching Mole (you might well know that too) who recorded 2 albums and were due to record a third when Wyatt had his accident. I'd never thought about the name "Matching Mole" - it's odd but not unexpected from someone from that scene. What I didn't realise is that Matching Mole is a pun on the French term "Machine Molle" - which translates into English as "Soft Machine"! Well I never! |
