Not a vintage year (worst festival weather ever and bizarre security measures) but here are some of the good and not-so-good bits. Review may follow... Highs (though we missed TFC) Hard Skin Thee Oh Sees Ezra Furman Meilyr Jones (don't believe the Guardian review) Whitney Eleanor Friedberger Savages - great stage presence now (don't believe the Guardian review) Broken Social Scene Younghusband Shopping Cat's Eyes Thurston Moore Group US Girls (a performance!) Leaf Library Lows Animal Collective (turn up, plug in, bore everyone) Money (the album cover is our wishful thinking) Flamingods (where to begin...) some of Cat Powers' cover versions Devendra Banhart (Oh John Inman. So much to answer for.) the Saturday rain Shepherd's Ice Cream (chocolate/ tayberry) - wowser. |
