Well, seeing as you ask.....you can use the spongey ones from Boots but hey muffle the sound quite a bit. I still use them cos I stand next to speakers a lot to take photographs so need them strong. However, I also have "proplugs" which are very unobtrusive, clear plastic, that fit sort of over the ear hole but not plugging right in it. People wouldn't notice it if you wore them. What they do is decrease the volume so you don't get that ringing after a gig, but still let you hear without muffling. I got mine from that drum shop in Denmark Street. Just ask for proplugs and they'll hold this size chart against your ears so you get the ones that fit. Cost about £10 but woth it to protect your hearing I'd say. |

Dave Mac (legendary gig goer) wears those too. Unfortunately he's only started wearing them in the last couple of years so I think he suffers permanent tinnitus. Bob's right though they do work and don't stop you appreciating the sound (er assuming it's worth appreciating!) |

These are the Doc's proplugs I have (the clear ones) and the site link VV's ER 20s are supposed to be good but they'll be a bit noticable I reckon. |
