I'm getting obsessed with this at the moment. It's getting to the stage where I'm waddling down the street dropping my Rice Krispies/eggs/Razzle because I refused to accept the carrier bags. Anyone else started wiping their bum with their sock to save on paper? |

I'm a recycling freak here - even as far as I get my paper on weekdays in digital format to read on the PC to save on paper! In Hackney you can also recycle food and garden waste (so as long as it's not raw meat) and our rubbish collection is only one large bin bag per week now because we recycle so much. And yes I do get a warm glow despite all the cynics telling me it's still going to the incinerator! |

i take a backpack to sainsbury's and fill that. i get the odd funny look too. but if i'm honest that's only becuse by the time i've walked home with 4 carrier bags full of washing powder and watermelons the fucking things have near severed my fingers. okay if i'm honest it's because i'm usuaully on my bike. okay if i'm really honest i can't remember the last time i got it together to actually go to sainsburys. i generally live on beer and benson silver from the corner shop. we recycle paper and glass but that's about it really. terrible i know. especially for someone who used to work for the environment agency. *shame* |
