jazz mainly of the count basie/duke ellington kind i think he had an interesting time in the 50s but its too late to ask now... he also had arecord by a group called the hellers , anyone heard of them? from what i remember it was the weirdest album ever and a great formative influence |

my parents didn't listen to music very much, but if they did it would have been... dad: cat stevens, queen, the sound of bread, status quo, simon and garfunkle, neil diamond mom: barbra streisand, elvis, glenn campbell, queen, carpenters, and any big band music from the 1940's. got quite excited in the early 90's when my dad went through a phase of listening to relatively cool stuff - bluetones, paul weller, REM etc . i think it was because the radio in his car at that time could only tune to virgin and not the usual oap fm he liked to listen to. i got all excited, hoping that at long last i could turn my dad into a trendy old dude, but then he got a better car stereo and all hope was lost!! the trendiest record my mom has in her collection is a moby single! |
