SONICFLYER (Siberia/London)
With accolades and achievements such as Steve Lamacq's Unsigned Band of the Week, NME's 'Best Thing We Found on Myspace This Week' and a support slot to Noel Gallagher in Moscow under their belt, it's fair to say that Sonicflyer are already enjoying their stay in their adopted city of London.
Based around sister and brother Yulia & Dima from the smalll town of Barnaul in Southern Siberia, they're augmented by SonicChris and SonicRob from over here.
Sonicflyer's sound, informed by britock and shoegaze is resolutely pop and the future looks bright including at a slot at the prestigious Latitude Festival in July.

RAYMOND & MARIA (Sweden)
With a number one single to their name back home in Sweden, this six-piece outfit are causing a buzz over here as well with many industry types lining up with their existing fans at gigs in the UK.
In the bands own words: 'If we weren't Raymond & Maria, we'd like to be a mix of Simon & Garfunkel, The Smiths, Bob Dylan and ABBA. We like straight-ahead, simple pop songs with solid drums and nice harmonies. The lyrics aren't about how things should be. We believe that it is right to say that everything is wrong. When you realized that you can start to change things.'
In the meantime grab a listen to to their sublime homeland hit 'Nobody Notices Your Brand New T-shirt' on their myspace and you'll get an idea wht athe fuss is about.
