THE PAINS OF BEING PURE AT HEART
With their debut eponymous album, released in 2009, Brooklyn quartet The Pains of Being Pure at Heart effortlessly captured the hearts of eager audiences across the globe and winning them over with their twinkling, saucer eyed indie pop. For their upcoming album however, to be released on Fortuna POP! in the spring, the band have cast their net further, creating a sound that is richer, fuller, and more expansive. Recorded earlier this year with Alan Moulder and Flood (who, between them, are responsible for some of the most seminal moments from the likes of Smashing Pumpkins, U2, Nine Inch Nails, My Bloody Valentine and many others), the new album "Belong" is due out in spring 2011 but before that, the band will playing this show – a perfect opportunity to preview the brilliant new material the band have tucked neatly up their collective sleeves.

SPECTRALS
Spectrals is the brainchild of Louis Jones; a charming, softly spoken gentleman from the town of Heckmondwike, 10 miles south-west from Leeds. Brought up on a mixture of 60 & 70s soul, motown and doo-wop, Spectrals combine classic 50s songwriting with understated melodies to create woozily melancholic pop songs. Alongside playing at festivals and touring with the likes of Best Coast, Real Estate and Girls, Spectrals recently released their ‘Spectrals Extended Play’ EP on Moshi Moshi Records and Louis is already hard at work on his debut feature album Bad Penny, which is due out in the very near future.

THE HISTORY OF APPLE PIE
Having only formed in 2010, The History Of Apple Pie are already attracting considerable attention for such a shiny young band. Their hazy lo-fi tracks, complete with sweet yet melancholy female vocals, topped off with a dash of reverb have seen them drawing comparisons to Galaxie 500, Smashing Pumpkins and Comet Gain. After acquiring praise from much of indie-pop community, the London-based band have have transformed from a duo of sweethearts into a dazzling five-piece band, getting ready to take your ears by storm in 2011.
