Originally from the Isle of Man, it didn't take long after a relocation to Bristol for the elitest music community to be falling head over toes for this lot. They play mind bending mathy prog pop. It's ridiculously intricate stuff, you're likely to be left feeling totally bewildered. Mega clever words, dizzy arrangements, a freaking spectacle as sound. I've heard them compared to This Heat, Why? and a 5th C. Armenian monk who goes by the name Captain Beefheart. There's no way I can express how excited I am to be putting these guys on. They recently self-released their awesomely packaged debut LP following 3 EPs and a mini-album.

I HAD AN INKLING
I had an inkling is a band, originally from Manchester, that has been playing together in various guises since 2003. The band’s first gig was in 2004 with Oneida and their debut single (now sold out) was released on Golden Lab Records in May 2005. The three current members of IHAI have settled on Leeds as their creative base and it’s from there that they currently write and record their whacked-out, aggressive math-rock/post-punk-prog melange and hook-laden, agit-pop. Often compared to the likes of The Magic Band, Red Crayola and The Minutemen, they are continually in pursuit of undanceable dance rhythms and enjoy playing the odd cheeky game of “Hide the 1”. An LP will be released on Golden Lab in 2007. First Leeds gig in AGES.

TEAM BRICK
Imagine a kid who suddenly begins making music on a four-track after discovering Klezmer, Noise, Mr. Bungle and Boredoms all around the same time. Zoom 4-5 years down the line, and after a heap of self released cdrs, that kid is now making a record for Invada, composing strings for a Stephen O'Malley and Julian Cope collaboration, making regular appearances in the WIre and Plan B publications (whoopee) and playing around Bristol in at least 5 other bands with the likes of Lonk favourites SJ Esau and Rose Kemp. Last seen in Leeds saving the day after North Sea Navigator pulled out last minute from a previous Lonk gig over a year ago; he made the speakers glow and blew the minds and ears of the unsuspecting crowd and totally won over local demigods 7 Hertz. You'll be a fool to miss him this time.
