Club Glasswerk continues its' monthly residency at the Purple Turtle with a cracking line-up of bands, headlined by the superb Sunny Day Sets Fire.
"This doesn't really sound like any other band about just now" contactmusic.com
"Sunny Day Sets Fire seem to have stumbled across the secret formula for a gloriously happy singalong song" soundsxp.com
"The multinational quartet prove their knack for writing irresistible pop gems" goodweatherforairstrikes.com
Described as Urban Folk, The Tacticians songs are mainly about dangerous liaisons, temptation, failure, heartbreak and love in the big city; the stories are as important as the sound.
The Alps love tunes - can't get enough of 'em in fact! Similar to less fussy post-punkers The Jam, The Police and Elvis Costello, the Greenwich quartet don't muck about when it comes to knocking together the kind of thorny three-minute gems that look set to barge their way into mainstream consciousness.
Night Trip - catchy happy music that you can sing along to and you will come away from a gig with the songs still in your head for weeks after.
Straight out of South London, pausing only to breathe and get out some cash, comes Cop On The Edge. "Teetering on the edge of a psychedelic Smiths/Fatima Mansions they are able to blend a dark haunting lyrical quality with a good tune which is gift many sadly do not possess." Bull & Gate
