Decoration (

Rambling casually onto the airwaves in 2004 Decoration instantly oozed unflappable northerness. They fell headlong onto the world with a shambling tabloid ordinariness; kitchen sink dramas and dilemmas, romantic clumsiness and affable tenderness were their heritage and they soon became their calling card. They kick their fray into action with a heady blend of tuneful potency, a melodious growl and a searing, scintillating wail, pulling together the last twenty years or so of Peel endorsed independent popular music Decoration instil in you a need for more. Guitars were made for songs like these, distortion pedals just add to the effect.
The Kick Inside ()
We were really proud to give this Bristol quartet their début London show back in July and we liked them so much we’ve invited them back to play again. They wowed crowds at this years Indietracks festival and they’re set to be one of this years best kept secrets. Their beautifully toned jangle pop is some of the best music being made on these Isles at the moment. If you missed their July show be sure to catch them this time around. They’re that good.
The Postcards ()
Another returning band, and another steeped in the traditions of indiepop. The band were named in honour of Postcard Records. So expect plenty of references to the sound of independent Scotland. Having recently changed a member - this new line up is threatening to be even better than the original.
Their début single is due for release in September and it’s already picking up the plaudits. Losing Today said “Razor edged twee tipped power pop” and Penny Black Music said they make “fun filled Rickenbacker flavoured pop”.
The Hillfields ()
Returning after a wee summer break - we’re delighted to have The Hillfields back at a Lostmusic pop show. We saw them opening proceedings for our (and many others) gig of the year at the Buffalo Bar - that being The Pains of Being Pure at Heart end of tour show back in February. Those that saw them that night were easily won over by their delicate brand of indiepop - recalling the golden age of Sarah Records - The Hillfields joins the dots between indiepop of the early 90s and the late noughties.
