LIVE!::

THE HOLLOWAYS

The Holloways are a band who are raring to go. Having had an exciting start to life with their first batch of songs and a frenetic live show through 2005, American indie giant TVT snapped up the band and success came by late 2006 with the critically acclaimed debut - "So This Is Great Britain?" In 2007, the band stormed sold out shows across the UK with singles Dance Floor, Generator and Two Left Feet pumping out on the radio airwaves. By the end of 2007, the lads had a wealth of new material. In February 2008, Tristan Ivemy - a close friend and exciting new producer, took the band to the legendary Sawmills Studio - where bands like Supergrass, Oasis and Muse laid down some classic albums. However... unbeknownst to the band, TVT had been having massive legal and money problems in the U.S.A. for some time - this unbelievably meant that 2 weeks into recording the follow up to "So This Is Great Britain?", the band had to dig money from their own pockets to finish the recordings! The album sounded fantastic and the band were excited to release and tour what they decided to call "Tales From The Tarmac". Since February the band have been going crazy on tour whilst in legal limbo - tied to the contract with TVT who owned the new record whilst awaiting the outcome of a long legal battle to find out who would win the auction for the band's contract.
Finally by August 2008 the band met their new owners - a digital distribution company called The Orchard - a label that said "you're in control..." with that, the band went to the pub and started planning how to come back. So, the lads from various corners of England who met in Holloway in 2004 are set to release new material in October with the new album "Tales from the Tarmac" pencilled in for a February release - a whole agonising year since its completion!

DIRTY HARRY

The Notorious Dirty Harry aka Harry is back in England finishing off her new album with Youth and Freelance Hellraiser of Ladyhawke fame. Her new band comprises of The Rev formally of Towers Of London/Prodigy and Snel from Towers of London and Adam Hammond on bass. Harry first got signed at 15 to Trevor Horn’s publishing label and had a hit single in Europe with Adamski when she was just out of school called “In The City”, Her first professional live performance was in front of 50,000 people in Madrid. Around this time she also had a small role in Jake Scott’s movie “Plunkett and Macleane” which starred Liv Tyler and Johnny Lee Miller. But writing music and performing has allways been her first love and she soon connected with Jon Klien from Siouxie and The Banshees and later Youth. Her recordings with Youth led Harry to have her own imprint Dirty World Records through Telstar Records at 19. These recordings turned into “The Trouble with… Harry” which was released by Telstar in 2003 following a campaign by Rimmel with her Ïmagination” single, the later going Top40 in the UK charts. Video’s for the singles “So Real” “Nothing Really Matters” and “Follow Me” were widely played on UK TV. In 2003 Channel 4 asked Harry to appear in the infamous “Faking It” TV show where she taught a reluctant choir girl to be a Rock Star with the help of Karen O and Lemmy from Motorhead and Emma Banks from CAA. After the dissolving of Telstar Records Harry had some time out to focus on her art and moved to various different countries before settling in LA where she wrote and recorded her second record “Songs From the Edge” at the famous Henson Studios in Hollywood. Mick Rock and Harry are both were mutual admires of each others work which led her to ask him to shoot the album cover for “Songs From the Edge” which in turn led to American Playboy making Harry “Babe of The Month” clothed for there recent Music Issue. While in LA fellow notorious rocker Tommy Lee asked her to duet with him on “Making Me Crazy” from his TommyLand album where she was the only female in appearance along side such rock legends as Slash, Dave Navarro and Good Charlotte. Collaborations followed with The Crystal Method, DJ Hyper and Cradle Of Filth and a Razorlight support slot at the beautiful El Ray Theatre in LA. Nylon magazine recently published and filmed an extraordinary interview with Harry and her longtime friend and supporter Courtney Love. Harry is now preparing for her new international onslaught with playing a few choice shows in England with her new band…. The future looks Dirty!

THE SAM MCCARTHY BAND

Sam McCarthy has a great voice which is perfectly suited to the band’s music, shades of the Beatles’ melody but with a harder rockier edge (especially on tracks like Firecracker), giving brave souls Mike and Ciara the chance to jive and shame everyone else’s English reserve. I can’t remember the last time I was so impressed with an unheard of support act. THE RED PILL
