SPEEDMARKET AVENUE
Let us all bow down before the great god of budget
air travel for once again delivering us the very best in Swedish pop
music in the shape of the fabulous Speedmarket Avenue. Sensitivity,
melodies and well-crafted pop songs, Speedmarket Avenue have it all in abundance, along with an obvious joy at having the opportunity of performing them. Their second album, “Way Better Now” was produced by Jari Haapalainen (Concretes, Camera Obscura) and has just been released on the much respected Spanish indie label Elefant. A single from the album was made Steve Lamacq’s Single Of The Week on BBC 6music.
"Guitar and horn drive heaven in an anorak... Fuzzy,
frothy, fun and frenzy." (Tangents)

THE SCHOOL
Originally formed by Liz Hunt of The Loves as a side-project, The School have turned into genuine contenders, inking a 2-album deal with Spain’s Elefant records, home of Camera Obscura. Indiepop with a strong 1960s influence, The School are just putting the finishing touches to their debut album with producer Ian Catt (Saint Etienne, The Field Mice, Trembling Blue Stars) for release later this year.
“A swoonsome waltz through the best bits of Belle & Sebastian, Camera Obscura, and 60s girl groups.” (How Does It Feel To Be Loved)

THE GRESHAM FLYERS
A sextet who are the hybrid of their diverse geographical backgrounds (north, midlands, south and Slough) and the best bits of your record collection, all sprinkled with a little sugar - David Gedge fronting an unruly combination of Sparks and Pulp. Classy, energetic pop, boy/ girl singers, handclaps, and hooks you can hang your duffel coat on. Their debut album “Sex With Stranger” is out now on the wonderful Cherryade records.
"Proper infectious real classic simple indie pop for fans of Belle & Sebastian, Sparks, Smiths and mostly New Order and Wedding Present" (Organ)
