OFFICER KICKS
19th October release The Kraken
(single on We Make Things Records)
Plus new UK tour dates / Juliette Lewis shows announced
and second Officer Kicks album, Citywide Curfew – coming soon.
Officer Kicks unleash The Kraken on 19th October via iTunes. This first single from new LP, Citywide Curfew is already getting cool reviews, radio/TV/sports ground plays, playlists and great club reactions. In the vanguard of the new British ROCK, their reputation is deservedly blooming.
After a summer of festivals, in-store appearances, on line TV sessions etc, the band have just completed a triumphant debut tour of Ireland then three nights at this year’s Harley Davidson rock festival.
Now Officer Kicks have been invited out as special guests on the Juliette Lewis UK tour and also to headline the first full electric sets bill at the increasingly legendary stars after show hangout; This Feeling. “A colossal club night.” (Noel Gallagher) pre-Kraken Friday night!

Their debut album, The Six Grand Plot - “no-nonsense killer tunes in a twelve-track bombardment” (Clash Magazine) - is a definitive introduction. Acclaim continues to build with lead single ‘Pictures of Me’ gaining radio playlists, as well as solid airplay across the board, the stylistic video was A-Listed on Virgin TV earlier this year and most recently this tune was a Q Magazine pick. It has laid the seeds for the next chapter in a never dull tale.
The next Officer Kicks album, Citywide Curfew was completed earlier this year. The remit was to blow everyone out of the water. Officer Kicks may well have succeeded. It will be released on We Make Things Records next year but has already secured new deals and international interest.
Jamie Scallion (vocals), Jamie Fisher (guitar), Michael Skorjanec (bass), Keith Wickham (drums); A class act with universal appeal. Entertaining, on or off stage, Officer Kicks have a collective ethos that’s spawned from a multi--tasking cottage industry. An infectious presence and many cool gigs earned without hype, a major label or booking agent.
The questions is not how long this band will remain under the radar, but how much more they’ll achieve with tenacity, inclusiveness and enormous tunes.
A deserved tip for 2010. “Super spiky rock’n’roll with plenty of attitude... The name should be a lot more familiar by the end of the year” (Sunday Express)
