Together they are simply one of the most sweet things you could see live. Ennio Morricone, Angelo Badalamenti, Julee Cruise, Burt Bacharach, the references couldn't be better. Brice and Dragazis write timeless pop classic melodies bedded in rich harmonies, with Allison hitting the hard notes with gracious generosity. While 'Castle Rock', the opening song, has enough magic to pet a wild cat, 'Remember my heart' could be a missing tune from Love's 'Forever Changes' sessions. 'Perfidia' - a tactful revision of an old Mexican song - *** The Silver Abduction play six songs, all of them very different sounding, from shoegazing to sixties ballads, and all containable within the adjective "Lynchian". No longer the dulcimer playing front woman of the Eighteenth Day of May, Alison Brice has traded folk songs for torch songs and stands, elegantly dressed and looking like Veronica Lake, with her hands twirling expressively in her lap in the manner of some Indian temple dancer.
