A quick reminder to write your song requests on the event wall for this Friday (http://xr.com/b0k). What would you like to hear? Our guest DJs Big Pink Cake will be on about 10ish. I’ve been in Edinburgh for the past week so you can expect a wee bit more Scottish indie pop than usual! A few people asked about drinks last time – if you prefer draught beer, rather than bottle, you can buy it downstairs and bring it up to the Joan Collins Lounge. It’s cheaper that way. If you’re coming from Popfest we’re just one stop southbound on the tube at King’s Cross or you can catch the number 30 bus. Admission is free all night and there will be mixtapes for those who get there early! |

We're very excited to welcome former Chelsea, Everton and Scotland international footballer Pat Nevin as our guest DJ this month. A former pal of John Peel, Pat has exquisite taste and I can't wait! We'll be playing the best in classic and new indie pop, post-punk, C86, jangle pop, Sarah, Postcard, new wave and protopunk dancefloor fillers in the Joan Collins Lounge. I’m delighted to announce that Betty and the Werewolves will be our guest DJs this month! Hot on the heels of storming the Camden Crawl, they’ve just finished recording their debut album Tea Time Favourites which will be hitting the shops in July on Damaged Goods. After releasing one of my favourite singles from last year, “David Cassidy”, and awesome hits like “Euston Station” and the forthcoming “Paper Thin”, I can’t wait to hear what songs influence them. All that and it’s FREE. What would you like to hear? Elsewhere, I’m currently working on our very first fanzine! It will feature interviews with The Pains of Being Pure at Heart, Standard Fare, Allo Darlin’, Darren Hayman, Pocketbooks, Hissing at Swans and many more. Post subject: | 31 July Scared To Dance in London w/ Darren Hayman |
We’re ridiculously excited to welcome ex-Hefner frontman Darren Hayman as our guest DJ this month! Darren has written some of our favourite songs over the years and we consider him one of the best songwriters in the country. With classic albums like The Fidelity Wars and We Love the City we can’t wait to hear what he’s going to play. As its July, it’ll also be our Post-Indietracks special! The premise is simple, we play lots of the bands who are playing the festival as it’s just one week before the night. So expect to hear The Pains of Being Pure at Heart, The Primitives, Ballboy, Slow Club, Allo Darlin’ alongside what we usually play. It’s free entry before 10pm and just £3 after. We’ve just sold out of fanzines but I’m going to be doing another print run. They’ll be on sale at Indietracks and this night. Alternatively, you can order one by emailing admin@scaredtodance.co.uk.
