Backstreets is back with the biggest headliner to date.... ENGLAND v ALGERIA on Friday 18th June 2010! We'll feature England's key second qualifying match from South Africa on the big screen. Kick-off is 7.30pm. In addition to that we've got three amazing rock acts to keep the party going, once Fabio Capello's men get a rousing victory on their way to world cup glory! THEE EXCITERS (Southampton) Signings to cult label Dirty Water, these guys play a mean mix of garage/punk/blues and have received critical acclaim on both sides of the Atlantic with Little Steven Van Zandt of E-Street fame making them single of the week on his underground radio show. ‘The grooves are tight and thick and you"ll probably never find better evidence to crown Southampton as the newDetroit’ – Houston Press ‘One of the best live garage bands in the UK over the past few years’ – Modculture.com http://www.myspace.com/theeexciters THE KITS (Aus/London) After starting out in the city of Melbourne, Australia, The Kits have now relocated to London where their sound has come into its own. Drawing comparisons with The Saints, Gang of Four and The Sonics, The Kits' tales of crime, addiction and short-lived romances have resulted in a rapturous following and earned them recent supports with The Dirtbombs, Wolfmother, The Saints and The Nightmarchers. They'll be playing songs from their recent album, including new single ‘Salvation’.. 'The Kits set the tone in style, the snarled delivery of their ragged ramalama harking back to the days when rock 'n' roll was considered a threat to the morals of the world's youth'- Kerrang http://www.myspace.com/thekits DEXY & THE HAND ME DOWNS (London) Sweetness and light in spades from Lewisham's finest Country Punk and his fine-tuned band. 'Joyous...should see him rise to ascendancy' - Drowned In Sound http://www.myspace.com/dexyspace & as always the drunken DJs until late!
