Don’t Wait Animate are an urban soundscape of London life in audio format. This experimental quintet interpret our unique cultural moment through an eerie kaleidoscope with anxious lyricism, and a seamless melange of electro, alternative, dub bass lines and future garage beat.
Their inspirations range from Hans Zimmer, 2-step producers Burial and 2562, John Cage, Massive Attack and Unkle to George Orwell and Aldous Huxley. With
ingeniuity and integrity they melt it all into euphonious orchestral explosions.
“Stunning” (The London Paper).
DWA’s ambitious musical vocabulary through phonic layers of ambience is a voice for a disenfranchised boomerang generation living in flux.
New EP. ‘Overground Up. Concrete Down’ is released in June for new East London label Dead At 27. It’s gonna be a release to sit up and take note of. Their debut, ‘6174’, was an underground success met with a plethora of acclaim, Lamacq band of the week etc.
"Dancehall meets Gang Of Four on a jerky, spiky, sensationally good debut” (Sunday Times Culture).
“Possessed with the right mix of urgency and turn-on-a-dime dynamics to swerve novelty and carve its own path” (Guardian Guide)
Taking the first step on the yellow brick road to their next release, ‘Don’t Wait Animate’ play this show on home turf in Art party central.
“Perhaps these guys are the new Klaxons but with more to say for themselves.” (CMU).
