"Playhard gives the opportunity for new bands to become successful and meet new people". (Jon Brookes - The Charlatans / One Beat Records)
The Ghosts
''Could just be your next favourite band'' (MixMag).
When The Ghosts stormed Playhard last Spring the crowd were euphoric. It's no surprise that their rapid ascendancy continues. They have been tipped as ones to watch by Napster, a plethora of national media and, importantly, the feedback of audiences. They've played festivals across the UK and Europe and shared stages with the likes of The Vaccines. "Soaring and sublime synth pop" (The Guardian).
New single 'Everything Will Do' ("the kind of song that will become the soundtrack for get-togethers with friends" - Vulture Hound) is a dark mix of dramatic strings, big guitars and synths which features the Jon Bonham-esque drumming of Jon Brookes. Its the latest single from their critically acclaimed debut album 'The End' and also features on new ABC Network drama 'Red Widow' (from Twilight/Dexter screen writer, Melissa Rosenberg).
Blessed with an "Unnerving ability to write deliciously macabre and compelling dreamy synth pop hits" (NME), The Ghosts, who are currently living and writing in a former music school where Elgar once taught, stormed SXSW in March with material from their forthcoming new album released later this year, before this global appearance

Caan
"Anthemic chorus after anthemic chorus" (NME)
Former Ou Est Le Swimming Pool member, Caan, is about as individual as they come. Having neatly transferred the Synth pop flame over to his pseudonym persona, he has allowed himself to tinker, adding slightly haunting ingredients to the mix. With Caan set to release an album very soon, expect tidal waves of interest. "Lush synth-pop sensibilities with a blue, softly desolate tone" (Metro)

Little Night Terrors
"Pure Pop Dynamite" about to throw a hand grenade into 2013's music scene. They have been holed up in a Kent farmhouse with producer Simon Barnicott, (Arctic Monkeys, Temper Trap, Bombay Bicycle Club) losing their minds, but making music.
Within a year of forming they have self-released two singles, gone Top 50 in the iTunes chart, been played on TV, sold out every show in their Leicester home town and gigged with The Vaccines and The 1975.
Utterly unstoppable. World, look out.

Cold Comittee
The newer wave rock and roll quartet from North Wales are being picked up by radio and in demand at the coolest hot ticket shows.
Having recently supported Miles Kane (a fan), they've a new single 'Iceman' up their sleeves ready to unleash on their fast swelling following.
Liam Gallagher is another fan and the band will open for Beady Eye at a festival in July.

The Broxton Hundred
Sprinklings of Psychedelia, plenty of groove and knack for a pop tune.
The trio formed early 2012 and were such a hit at Playhard in Autumn that they have been invited back.
They release an EP towards the end of this year.
"If you can catch this band live do so." (Louder Than War).
