Sadly this show is now cancelled after the Yawns had to cancel their European tour and could no longer make the date.

Shacklewell Arms. Saturday 28th June.
Entry £5 in advance. £6 on the door
Doors 7:30pm - All Done by 10:30pm.

The Yawns bring an end to their European tour with a headline show at The Shacklewell Arms. This appearance comes ahead of their appearance at this years Indietracks.

Praise for The Yawns has been growing since they formed back in 2012:

"Lead track on the debut ‘Summers Wasted’ is perhaps their best moment so far. Naïve and blissfully carefree it is as nigh on as you can possibly get to a perfect guitar pop record" - This is fake DIY

"Everything these guys touch seems to turn to gold" - Sound Of Confusion

"The Yawns know exactly how to construct and nail a great pop song" - Gold Flake Paint

"laid back, slightly surfy guitar sound delivered with swagger" - Song, By Toad

"the quintessential Scottish indie-art-pop group" - Pet Piranha

"like eating small jobbies on a cold winter's morn" Claw Hammer Press

Support comes from the fabulous Cosines - signed to the ace Fika Recordings - they make big bold pop music that fuses metronomic pop sensibilities, 60's grooves and krautrock noise. As a band they are constantly trying to find the perfect meeting point between clean synths and fuzz guitars.

Sweet Benfica are two brothers from South Wales. They've made a few scratchy online releases covering the hinterland between fuzzy noise pop and a messed up lo-fi take on alt country. This is their first show outside of their native Wales.

Afterwards we could pop around the corner for dancing at Scared To Dance (The Moustache Bar). I think it's their 5th Birthday do, that night.

Nice to have seen you Trev!

Got home after the gig, turned on the Glastonbury coverage and knew I'd been to a better gig. The Digs were awesome.
