I bought my copy back in 2011 - never found volume 1 at a reasonable price. But this one is good enough for me. It's like a weird mix of easy listening and psych-ish sounds.

Nut Boppin' Whoppers (Squirrel Records)
Back when Squirrel Records was the home to fucked up garage/noise bands. They released this beauty. 27 songs of (mostly) snotty punk rock featuring the likes of The Real Losers, The Nasties and Pop Threat. Most 'famous' band on the comp is probably The Cribs. But don't let that put you off.

Some Bizarre



My introduction to what was briefly labelled Futurist music at the time. It featured Depeche Mode, Soft Cell, Blancmange, Naked Lunch, all before their fame and performing in a very lo-fi and minimalist form. To a teenager it seemed like a really, really exciting thing back then.

Not to be confused with the similarly themed CD of the same name on Official records, nor that CDs's sequels More Wild & Frantic and Again Wild & Frantic, although these are also well worth checking out. Neither should it be confused with Wild & Frantic Rock & Roll, a 10 CD set on the Documents label, which features a lot of better known and, for the most part, not so wild & frantic acts.

Superb choice Mr Anarchy. That LP was a real eye opener for me when it came out. Remember buying it after hearing Peel play
tracks from it. Every track was new to me at the time.
Have spent decades searching for volume 2, but have never even seen a copy.
