Fair point Joe but it's not just the BBC that has made it the main topic all week. There's nothing the vile Middle England rags the Mail and Express like than to stick the boot into auntie Beeb and it's them rather than any natural ire from Joe Public that has seen the number of complaints go through the roof. Only 2 people actually complained after the programme, the rest have been orchestrated by the papers.

Personally I think the BBC has handled the affair ludicrously. Ross was crude and should have apologised immediately but that should have been it, Brand was just silly and should have walked away with nothing more than a ticking off and a slightly dented ego. The head of Radio 2 should never have had to resign. The grandaughter will be happy in the tabloids for a few weeks (employing Max Clifford says everything), especially if porn film appearances prove to be true. Andrew Sachs is the only real injured party but I dare say even he'd have shrugged it off if the whole thing hadn't blown up.

Be nice to get back to the real world though eh? Well, maybe not, given the events of recent weeks, but at least we won't have to listen to BBC newsreaders questioning other BBC newsreaders about their opinions on other BBC broadcasters.. yawn.

I was absolutely disgusted and appalled over all this and I even for the first time sent a complaint to the BBC and sent an email to the Today programme on Radio 4 – 99% of the media coverage was a witch –hunt against Brand, Ross and the BBC.

It was so fucking obvious all the complainers and pundits hadn’t actually heard the show in its entirety – the offending bits were taken completely out of context.

It wasn’t a “prank” or “hoax” call as even the BBC are calling it – they rang him up cos he was meant to be on the show but he wasn’t in and they got his answerphone. Yeah, they rang him back but it was to apologise and it sort of got a bit lairy again. Jonathon Ross shouldn’t have said what he did but it was, dare I say it, funny! Anyone’d think they were mass murderers or something. It wasn’t that outrageous.

What everyone fails to mention is that the hysteria was whipped up by the Mail, the same paper that Russell Brand constantly takes the piss out of and it was either in that show (or could have been the week after) that he went into one about their odious ant-immigration editorials and the Mail’s support for Mosely and Hitler before the war. Surprise, surprise – they try to ruin his career.

Make them apologise they cried! If the cunts had of listened to the show they would have heard them apologise more than once on the show and afterwards in the vidiecast.

The whole affair is being used as a big stick to wack the BBC by those people that have a vested interest in seeing it broken. Tory twats with their friends and shares in commercial broadcasting were the first to condemn. And that shit Kelvin McKenzie was on both breakfast Time and the Today programme calling them louts and demanding punishments. You were fuckin editor of the Sun you cunt! – “pot and kettle?”

“The BBC should stop making programmes for the metropolitan elite” they spat. What??? You fuckin idiots…..the BBC make programmes for a wide range of different people - that’s what broadcasting is about you patronising cunt. The Russell Brand show is not meant for you just as the Strictly Come Dancing or Noddy is not meant for me.

Cut their pay! They’re paid too much!!! Maybe they are, but if the BBC didn’t pay them then the Commercial channels would. I think Ross and Brand are worth every penny and I’d happily double my licence fee to have good programmes and good radio.

Thank you Daily Mail and tabloid press and the same cunts that complained against Jerry Springer the Opera – I now have nothing to listen to on a Saturday.

what really got me was that there were only 2 complaints at the time. every other one had to be told to be outraged first. on thursday there were over 3000 complaints. who waits for 4 days before becoming so outraged that they have to write complaint?
it really is obvious that the conservative (small c) wankers have just used it as an excuse to rail against stuff they dont like.

actually this brings up an interesting point. is it now too easy to complain? email has made it the work of 10 seconds to complain about a programme where previously you would have had to be pretty worked up to have bothered.
why dont we pick some rubbish show and all complain that its really offensive? countdown maybe.
it wont work though because there have been thousands of complaints about that twat george lamb and his radio6 show, but the bbc have ignored that. (ironically same controller that resigned over the brand/ross thing defended lamb)

i've just been to the bbc website and made a complaint about jeremy clarkson making a 'joke' about lorry drivers murdering prostitutes on top gear last night.
not that i found it particularly offensive, or even watched the programme, i just fucking hate clarkson and wondered if i could get the wanker sacked

But, let's face it, a witch-hunt against Ross is no bad thing.
