When the Nazis came for the communists,
I remained silent;
I was not a communist.
When they locked up the social democrats,
I remained silent;
I was not a social democrat.
When they came for the trade unionists,
I did not speak out;
I was not a trade unionist.
When they came for the Jews,
I remained silent;
I was not a Jew.
When they came for me,
there was no one left to speak out.
'An intrusion too far' - the no smoking law was an intrusion too far. I've been banging on about this kind of shit for years and nobody listens. You had better stand up against this and test your worth because this is such a small part of the picture. In four years time you wont be able to breathe without somebody telling you how to do it. The environment and time is right for this kind of thing because society does not give a shit about anything unless it affects them. I was one of the few non-smokers who was anti that new law because I knew what it meant - it wasn't about the health of bar workers because you can smoke in the numerous bars in the houses of parliament. If they cared about the health of the masses they'd ban cars. It was a form of control and like tossers we took it.
Anyway look forward to the following if you don't get off your arses and start doing something:
No music venues
No drinking in public
No thinking in public
No eating certain kinds of foods
No travelling abroad (carbon footprinting my arse)
No money - everything card run or thumbprint run thus taking away every right you were born with and so on and so fucking forth.
And do you know the smug people who gave the middle finger to the smokers? Well they're giving the middle finger to this thread also because it does not affect them.
