I found out I was a bit of a dinosaur when I was on the train with one of my team (aged about 25) 3 months ago and she reacted to my newspaper as if I’d just taken out a quill and unscrewed an inkwell. She gets her news from the web and from some weekly magazine that rounds up the main headlines.
I read the Guardian/ Observer but I hate most of G2, the Saturday magazine and all the bits that fall out of the paper. I like the main reporting and the op-ed pages, plus some of the sports coverage, just because I trust them more than on-line (I listen to R4 as well). But I think I’m a dying breed.
As for Liddle, if you have the bad judgement to frequent the Millwall message boards, I think you've already cooked your chips in your editorial interview regardless of what you have or haven't said.
