I got sent an album to review by a Sheffield band called La Folie which is bloody fantastic, a bit Dresden Dolls-ish but much darker:

Some good links here. Very few 'new' bands though. Most have existed since 2005/2006.

I noticed that Tommy Turbo & the Turbervilles myspace was set up in 2005 and yet in their blurb they claim to've formed in 2009...

Another band who aren't new in the actual sense of the word, but are fucking brilliant are Blank Dogs - http://www.myspace.com/blankdogtime

I think they're really, really good.
