Our next night is a Liverpool Post Punk Special. It takes place on the 20th October 2012 at in Charing Cross Lane. It starts at 8:30PM and ends at 1AM. As always it's Free Entry!
Alongside the Culture Bunker DJ's we are pleased to announce that our guest dj is Jonathan Beckett formerly of Moscow Circus, but now records as a solo artist for the likes of Occultation Records and Vollwert Records.
It's apt that he should be our guest DJ for this Liverpool post punk night as Will Sergeant from Echo And The Bunnymen has stated publicly that he loves Jonathan's 'She's A Vampire', and Paul Simpson (Wild Swans/Teardrop Explodes/Care) had this to say about Jonathan's music:
“I’m a sucker for musical beauty, lyrical sadness and outsiderism, and they don’t come more beautifully outsider than Jonathan Beckett. For me, stumbling upon Jonathan’s music is a bit like chancing upon the ivy-covered remains of an architecturally significant stately home while out walking in the woods; a little decayed, ever so slightly scary perhaps, but beneath the ivy lie elegant mullioned windows, intricately carved stone bestiary and secret doors in the oak paneling.”
