Free Christmas downloads
To celebrate the yuletide season & get everyone in the Christmas mood, we've pulled together a bunch of Christmas songs by Sheffield bands. They are all available to download for FREE, including The Long Blondes' ace "Christmas Is Cancelled", Ormondroyd's quite stunning version of "Stop The Cavalry" and others by Velodrome 2000, Gyppos and Peter Green. New items available from Thee SPC
New in for December we've got a really nice indiepop 7" singles from Spain called A Pop. The 7" is a split single featuring SIX bands such as the Lucksmiths, The Shermans and Nice Guy (whos is Francis McDonald from Teenage Fanclub/BMX Bandits.) We've also done some trades with Demolition Records of Belgium, so this month we can offer you a CD by surf band Les Vice Barons. Sheffield stalwarts Repomen have a new EP out on CD and we've got a few copies to sell. Also we have some new items from the Wrath Super Sevens series, such as the Piske Sits/Old House split reviewed in this months Sandman.
Thee Humbug #4
Issue #4 of Thee Humbug is well underway and will include interviews with Umlaut, The Yell, iForward Russia and articles on Music Hall, bands in London, Victorian Reality Pamphlets and lots of cartoons! Tentative release date is 10th January. We've added a section to the website specifically for Thee Humbug, just to list the previous copies 'cos we get so many questions about them. But we intend to add PDF files of the first and second issues with MP3s in the new year.
Imminent Thee SPC Releases
2006 is gonna be a bumper year for Thee SPC. We have the following imminent releases: An album from Smokers Die Younger on CD; An album from Monkey Swallows The Universe on CD; A split single from The Balor Knights and Scarlet Tuesday on banana yellow vinyl(!) and a CD compilation of Sheffield electronica. Woo! More news soon.
