Can anyone recommend any good CD albums of music that influenced the Cramps? I have 3 or 4 of the old Born Bad LPs but I'd prefer it on CD. I know there's some bootlegs called Songs The Cramps Taught Us (Volumes 1 to 3) but they go for about £20 each on eBay. Just wondered if there are others I don't know about that are cheaper or perhaps a box set of something similar? |

i'd say anything by Link Wray, Roky Erickson and Hasil Adkins. lots of trashy 60's surf stuff like The Triumphs (amazing) and maybe more mainstream stuff like The Ventures? i dunno really though, lots of good reference points would probably be Crypt Records reissues/compilations like the 'Back from the Grave' stuff (i know they covered the Crusher by the Novas from the first BFTG). |
