The battery life isn't double. Its 16 hours on a iRiver, 10 on my 40G iPod, 12 on newer generations of iPods. I've never needed it to last any longer than 10 hours and Apple are always releasing software updates that help to improve battery life.

You cannot listen to music while charging an iRiver! :shock:

The headphones are supposed to be crap, software poor, reviews report you get pauses between songs and it's difficult to make play lists! :shock:

Agreed, it does look a good player. You're obviously happy with it, as I am with the iPod; which is slick and beautifully designed. :wink:

Apple annouces new ipods - and .

Chicken apparently the ipod isn't gapless so how do you remove gaps from your player? Just interested and not having a dig.

I may invest in an ipod shuffle to play some of the few itunes tracks I have. There are some cheap ones on e-bay already. Maybe that should tell me something!
