I know someone connected with this so I shan't be critical of it but Neon's right. The Irish magazine market is in desperate need of something like this. Hot Press, like much of the Irish media (particularly The Irish So-Called Independent), has just become one huge noticeboard for Irish commercial interests, so much so that reviewers and columnists are being severely edited or cut out altogether if their opinions threaten advertising revenue. The more voices present, the fewer instances there will be of these appalling curbs on press freedom.
Also, it goes without saying, the more openings for talented "Dublin-based writers" like us.
