I signed up to Spotify in the early days, but found it pretty useless as virtually everything I searched for wasn't on there. Then suddenly, having not logged in, since three or four forays when I first signed up, I got an email from them saying "we've found 7 music suggestions for you on Spotify. Enjoy!"
The 7 recommendations were:

What is it with Spotify Evangelists these days?

I'd actually like to use the service and have Odd Box releases on there - but I can't do that given the way small labels are short changed for use of their releases. If the business model was fairer, I wouldn't object to the service. Until I think the rate per stream is acceptable, I simply won't use the service. Having a few interesting conversations with bands around this at the moment, some just want to be heard, so damn the return on your investment. Others are more sympathetic.

If Odd Box can't break even Odd Box will stop. Spotify doesn't sufficiently reward, so I am not going to use it, until it does. If 65000 streams equates to $300 I can not and will not give them my custom.
