Article is a little old but an 800 capacity venue in Denmark Street sounds good to me. Central London shouldn't be all chain coffee shops, restaurants and stores.

Hopefully it won't go the same way as The Marquee Club and be so expensive to hire out that noone ever puts on decent gigs there. It'll probably be a soulless O2 type venue but I hope to be proved wrong!

Not really a venue as such but saw that the Intrepid Fox will be closing as a result of Crossrail soon. Not directly as a result of the works - the landlord's sold up to a developer who wants to smash a load of flats right nearby because of the Crossrail development. I think that's right anyway.

Not a place I frequent, but it's always sad to see places with actual character disappear. Although I notice that Byron burgers have now taken down that awful BYRON AT THE INTREPID FOX from the original sight which got bashed down for the St. Giles development.
