agree with the link back to the main site bit. a few more articles rather than just reviews would be nice too? the spoof product has to go. not wild on the colour scheme of the main site too. other than that... carry on!

You could try using as a content management system, especially if you're lacking the PHP skills to build or adapt your own system. I've been using it for blogging for several months and I'm so impressed with it that I'm going to use it for our band website. The only potential problem would be integrating it with the forum because it has its own comment system.

The homepage is very static and the "tabular" format looks a bit amateurish. BUT! the good points about the homepage are that it clearly shows that the site has a lot of content and it's easy to see at a glance what's been added recently.

Still, a bit of movement wouldn't hurt. What about a pop-up ad for a family car? Everyone loves those....

Agree with Westie about the layout of articles - would look a bit neater if they were categorised somehow rather than being in a long list.

I've always felt there should be a way to search by writer in the 'Search' section - might be a bit tricky given the number of different authors that come and go, mind.

I would be sad to see Vented Spleen go, though - I'll admit it needs a bit of a revival. Agree on the general feelings about Spoof Product, however.

I've always quite liked the font for the Contents menu and stuff down the left hand side of the screen - never been sure about that yellow banner though. Maybe a nice new colour scheme might spice things up a bit.

Westie's layout change sounds like a good 'un.

Don't like star ratings though - not as if it's hard to work out whether someone likes something or not (though perhaps a gradation of James S' vitriol mightn't be a bad idea).

More articles would be good, but difficult - reviews give a ready made focus - you need time to research and write through articles, which I for one don't really have.
