1st 4 of these bands signed to bigger label after early 45s and eneded up murdering their own songs on lp. Strokes turned out to only have two songs!

I think it's a common thing with album duds, just because based on a few songs, it's natural to project what you want them to be like.

People also fuck around with the production, the Rakes, Art Brut etc.

The Sex Pistols

Remembered fondly now, but at the time NMTB was lambasted as a "greatest hits" with plenty of padding. And so it was. The title and the cover were the best two things about it.
