For me I always get sad when I hear early 80s pop or soul... the stuff I'd hear when I was just starting to go into bars and pubs... Michael Jackson, Spandau, Marvin Gaye, Lionel Ritchie, Imagination, etc, I hated it all but it was on in all the sort of places you'd go in because you wanted to meet the opposite sex and inevitably, in true Morrissey fashion you'd go home alone and cry and want to die...

hmm... yeah, mine is very similar to yours Bovine but instead of Michael Jackson and Spandau Ballet I had B*witched, 5ive, Spice Girls and All Saints... sends a quiver down the spine even thinking about it.

Most mid to late 80s and early 90s pop stuff depresses me.

And Grunge annoys the fuck out of me - 1993- through to 1995

And Britpop. I hated 90% of that.

When I was working in this pub while doing my degree - Sunday nights were the worst - B*witched singing 'Blame it on the weatherman' or some shite like that while men decayed before my very eyes - lovelorned and whatnot. Had it been my permanent job I would have overdosed on guinness or slit my writs with anything to hand. It just seemed like that was the only music on offer at the time..I think the end of the 90's was a bad time actually.
