SLEEPINGDOG

Sleepingdog is the project of Belgium artist Chantal Acda. Her music is beautiful and gentle with wistful vocal melodies and delicate piano and strings; quiet but expansive. All songs are written, played and recorded in her little basement with her doggie Darko sleeping at her feet.
To date Sleepingdog have released two albums including the critically acclaimed ‘Polar Life’ which was released late 2008 on Gizeh records. Chantal has toured with Lambchop and shared stages with the likes of Calexico, Okkervil River, Iron and Wine and Daniel Johnston.
"Against a backdrop of gently swelling strings and piano her clear voice enchants, particularly on the plaintive banjo-led highlight 'Ardennes' and poem-inspired 'The Sun Sinks In The Sea'" - 7/10 Rock Sound
"Acda's voice is clear, pure and transfixingly beautiful, it evokes comparison to Lamb's Louise Rhodes in tone, range and its ability to raise hairs on back of one's neck." - Echoes and Dust
FIREWORKS NIGHT

Theatrical alt-folk from a London ensemble currently causing quite a stir. There’s echoes of Nick Cave here, and their unique orchestral pop has won them fans from the likes of Radio 1’s Colin Murray to a significant chunk of the music press.
“The multi-layers of instruments gently explode together to make a song that is both simple and complex… they make songs that take you on a musical adventure and tell you a story, and Echo's Swing is no exception.” – Times Online (track of the week)
"A dizzyingly talented dash-cutting ensemble trading in claret confessionals and gravel voiced, tobacco-stained drama, all told via sensitive piano work, nigh-on perfect string accompaniment and a fantastic songwriting flair." - Drowned in Sound
BLEEDING HEART NARRATIVE

Bleeding Heart Narrative’s debut release on Tartaruga Records sold out in super quick time and judging by its ambitious, gloriously layered orchestral sounds it’s hardly surprising.
“cellos, pianos and all mixed together with a general eerie drone. It's dark and light....happy and sad..... incredibly emotive and one one of the most interesting records we've heard here in a long long time. It pricked up the collective office ears which is rare thing these days. Will appeal to fans of Hood, Stars of The Lid, early Constellation releases. This is seriously good." – Norman Records
"This has to be THE find of 2008! Bleeding Heart Narrative has constructed a unique, haunting and compelling album. We can't recommend this highly enough!" – Cold Spring Records
