My prediction proved eerily close: 0-0 at half-time; Stoke stuff up good chance to score after 60 mins; City take the lead shortly afterwards. They didn't really bother going for the second goal in the dying seconds, but apart from that it all went to script.

Not the worst cup final I'd ever seen but certainly, as a neutral, one of the hardest to get enthusiastic about: moneyed competence vrs ugly tenacity. Between them they sum up everything that's wrong about the Premiership these days.

In the end I found myself leaning slightly towards Citeh because Stoke are such a horrible, horrible team - fuck that "plucky underdog" shit.

The banner at Old Troughard can finally come down.

Not a great final but then few are. We deserved the win as we played the better football, had the most chances and scored the only goal but beyond that not much to say.

And Mrs Ray's right, even neutrals have to question what they look for from the game if they really wanted Stoke to win that. They've spent a lot of money too (nowhere near as much as us obviously) and all they could come up with is ugly hoofball. No ta.

And Kev - no, I didn't get to the game, only tickets I was offered were £400 (City end) or £150 (Stoke) so I ended up watching with a few mates. Mind you feels like I spent nearly £150 on ale... Maybe next year...

Aye, better team won. Sadly.

Was surprised by Stoke as they can play a bit when they put their mind to it. I think they resorted to type (and it let them down).

Man City were so average though. If that's what money buys.... sheesh, they weren't good to watch either.

Roll on Swansea-Forest on Monday.....
