Demo Review

Pushbike Army demo

Pushbike Army
Hailing from Leeds, Pushbike Army deliver no-nonsense, straight down the line, fast paced indie rock with punky undertones. Having honed their skills over the past 18 months, the trio have put together a short promo that points towards a promising future. Lead track ‘Four from Alexandra Grove’ is slightly backwards looking, but is delivered with passion and belief that makes amends for its lack of originality. The drumming is excellent, with breakneck guitars and rumbling bass aping the likes of the Buzzcocks and Sex Pistols. The vocals are a touch wooden in their delivery though, as often is the case when a band with so much energy tries to capture their spirit on record. ‘Farewell to my Fascist’ treads a similar path with a piano version of ‘Four from Alexandra Grove’ padding out the disc.
