Country, pop, singer, songwriter, producer, musician... there was more than one string to Lee Hazlewood's bow, although it's maybe his partnership with Nancy Sinatra that he's most widely known for. As well as performing himself, Hazlewood, who died in 2007, did vast amounts behind the scenes, working with Duanne Eddy, Gram Parsons, Dean Martin and more. On October 25th, his life will be celebrated with a night at The Barbican Centre in London curated by Ed Harcourt and former manager and biographer Wyndham Wallace.
Amongst the performers who've been announced are Portishead's Adrian Utley, The Bad Seeds' Jim Sclavunos, Jehnny Beth from Savages, Matthew E. White, Josh T Pearson, Caitlin Rose and more to be announced. Titled Love and Other Crimes: The Songs of Lee Hazlewood, tickets and more details can be found here.
