Golden Years: David Bowie To Release Comprehensive Box Set Series

Article written by Kev W - Jun 25, 2015

6e32aa6c.jpg
Beginning with 'Five Years - 1969-1973', which is out on September 25th on Parlophone, David Bowie will be releasing a series of box sets that span almost the entirety of his career (barring a handful of mid '60s singles recorded under different guises). This first part includes six remastered studio albums, two live albums, and a compilation called 'Re:Call 1' which features non-album tracks and previously unreleased material from that period. You can find a full tracklisting of the rarities album below.

The six newly remastered albums include 'David Bowie AKA Space Oddity', 'The Man Who Sold the World', 'Hunky Dory', 'The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders From Mars', 'Aladdin Sane', and 'PinUps'. The live albums are 'Live Santa Monica '72' and 'Ziggy Stardust: The Motion Picture Soundtrack'. The 2003 stereo mix of 'The Rise and Fall...' is also included.

The set comes with a book featuring rarely seen photos and technical notes about each album. There's also a foreword by the Kinks' Ray Davies. Both 'Re:Call 1' and the 2003 stereo version of 'Ziggy' feature new artwork and archival photographs.

'Five Years 1969-1973' wll be available as a 12 CD set, or a 13 disc vinyl set.
