Mark E Smith's Singing Officially Declared "Hard To Hear" By Judge In Court Dispute

Yes, it's taken decades, but a current court dispute over copyright has led a judge to state the bleedingly obvious about arguably the biggest cult hero of recent times. The Manchester Evening News Reports:

"A judge was given the tricky task of deciphering the lyrical rantings of The Fall frontman Mark E Smith in a bitter High Court copyright dispute.

And Recorder Amanda Michaels confessed, after listening to three versions of one of the Manchester band’s songs, that the words were ‘hard to hear’ due to Mr Smith’s vocal style.

The case hit court as Mr Smith’s publisher Minder Music Limited, former bandmate Julia Adamson and producer Steven Sharples, battled over ownership of the 1999 album track Touch Sensitive."
