Airborne Toxic Event does this mean you're moving onSquare Records

The Airborne Toxic Event have already supported the Kaiser Chiefs on their American dates but the day surely can’t be too far away when the hopeless Tykes are grateful for the opportunity to reciprocate the favour. With this utterly fantastic debut, the Californians display both a keen eye for an obscure book (hence their name) and a sharp ear for a mighty hook. With elements of Orange Juice and Josef K in the jagged and jarring jangly riffage, it’s the addition of the driving pomp pop sensibilities of Franz Ferdinand that effortlessly lift you of the library and onto the dancefloor. Wherever and whoever, it’s a terrific slab of plastic and the spangliest couple of minutes you’ll spend this spring. With another corker on the b-side (the frantic new wave of Papillon) the only regret is that their first brief trip to the UK has already been and gone. Finger crossed they’ll return.
