With their swooping keys, doleful horns and strident vocals Fanfarlo produce tunes to please the ears, pull at the heart strings and stir the loins. So wonderfully lush, both Fire Escape and its flipside We Live By the Lake could melt the polar ice caps all on their own with their sumptuous warm melodies. To call it 'indie' would be like calling Krug fizzy plonk, this is sweet soul music at its emotionally charged finest. Glorious.
