Having taken their name from an acclaimed account of domestic political events prior to the first world war and produced possibly the most ornate packaging you'll see this year, TSDoLE are clearly not another bunch of raggle taggle skiffle punk monkeys. With the brooding build-up, dramatic percussion, semi orchestral strings and soaring harmonies there's no question Arcade Fire have impressed these south coasters. However this shouldn't deflect from what is clearly both a challenging and ultimately fairly stunning piece of work. Through layer upon layer of instrumentation the listener is hooked in before finally being left to wallow in a pit of jaw dropping sonic wonder. Honest. Now I'd like to see The Holloways attempt that...
