The Shirts, James Pants, Pissed Jeans, The Cardigans and now Blouse. Clothes-related names for bands aren’t really rock’n’roll but Blouse’s single is harder-wearing than their name. 'Into Black' is a veiled and hazy dreampop shadow that glides along on a percussive heartbeat, warm waves of synthesiser and the singer’s almost ethereal vocal. The "chillwave" tag doesn't do it sufficient justice, and there's a splash of Goth - i.e. the Cure - in the sound. 'Firestarter', on the flip, is a satisfying blast of nostalgia, the sound of euphoric, ecstatic 80s synthpop.
