Christmas Island Nineteen Captured Tracks 7”

‘Nineteen’ by San Diego’s Christmas Island is a tale of small town ennui, told with an addictive trebly-pop style very reminiscent of early Flying Nun bands like the Clean and the Bats (and they knew something of small towns too…). Flip it over for ‘Twenty Nine’ which has a modest funky edge to the pop, and blends in a Beatles influence with that lo-fi Flying Nun sound while the band sing about getting older with nothing to show for it. They sound like they’re never satisfied; I definitely am though.
