Gablé
EP2 LoAF Recordings

Article written by Ged M - Oct 8, 2009

Eccentric, experimental and playful freak-folk from Normandy, France, in a Moldy Peaches meets Devendra Banhart sort of way. ‘Puree Hip Hop’ mashes up indiepop and hip-hop while ‘I’m OK’ is as surprising as a baguette up the bumhole; it starts like early Sonic Youth in a squall of guitars then becomes dreamily acoustic, while it sets odd references to chainsaws and “head cutting wire” against the prettiest melodies. A triumph of daft pop.
