I Remember Tapes are a four-piece hailing from Winchester. And ‘All I Know’ kicks us off nicely, the song not hanging around. It’s yer standard fayre of guitars, bass, drums and singy-shouty indierock. There’s a strange change of pace and a guitar solo halfway through, and overall it’s decent, if not much else. ‘Cold’ isn’t, I’m afraid, a cover of the penultimate track on The Cure’s ‘Pornography’ album, but another slice of ninetiesish rawk, which gets a bit ‘foot-on-the-monitor’ towards the end of the 4 minutes. Sounds like someone's done too many gigs... Lastly, ‘Indecisive’ is also sing-along-atastic but has a bit more space in it.
In summary, I’m reminded of a band who never really troubled the judge, but who were good and solid, sonically. Easterhouse. Heard of ‘em? Thought not. There you go.
